Job Summary

The City of Birmingham is seeking a skilled Human Resources Project Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our HR department, you will be responsible for managing and supervising a range of HR tasks to ensure the city's operations run efficiently.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic individual who is passionate about human resources and wants to make a significant contribution to our organization. You will work closely with HR leaders to manage complex projects and routine departmental activities, interacting regularly with employees, department heads, customers, vendors, retirees, and appointing authorities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform and oversee various administrative activities of the department and departmental staff to ensure efficient operations.
  • Communicate information to internal and external stakeholders regarding various programs and initiatives, plans, policies, and operating procedures.
  • Assist in the selection and development of department/organization employees by conducting human resource and personnel duties.
  • Develop and execute recruiting strategies to search for qualified employment candidates and fill open positions.
  • Lead complex human resource projects, such as major studies and/or work improvement projects, involving extensive research, implementation strategies, analysis, and coordination with departments, jurisdictions, and other organizations.
Requirements

To be considered for this position, you must possess a Bachelor's degree or higher in Human Resource Management, Management, Business Administration, or a related field of study from an accredited college or university. You should also have experience performing tasks related to employee selection, training, and communication, as well as experience leading and coordinating human resources initiatives.
