About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Community Mental Health team at Avon & Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver direct interventions to service users in a community setting, including those who require an assertive approach.
  • Provide medical input and leadership to the Community Mental Health Team, with a focus on patients from surgeries in Melksham and Trowbridge.
  • Assess and treat outpatients in clinics, hold CPA meetings, and visit patients in their own homes if clinically indicated.
  • Liaise with other services, GPs, and non-NHS organisations to ensure seamless care.
  • Fulfill the Responsible Clinician role for patients subject to Community Treatment Orders.
Requirements
  • MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
  • Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment.
  • Approved clinician status or able to achieve within 3 months of appointment.
  • Experience of assessing and treating patients in a community setting.
  • Leadership skills and ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
