As a Finance Business Partner, you will be instrumental in enhancing the financial viability of our social research initiatives. You will serve as the strategic consultant to our research leadership, ensuring that every decision is supported by robust financial insights and aligned with our organizational goals. This role transcends traditional finance functions—it's an opportunity to influence the future of social research through your financial expertise.
Core Responsibilities
- Strategic Financial Guidance: Collaborate with Research Directors to optimize financial outcomes, ensuring that projects are executed on schedule, within scope, and adhering to budgetary constraints.
- Commercial Analysis: Deliver comprehensive analyses on profitability, project margins, and investment returns, transforming intricate data into actionable business strategies.
- Financial Planning & Forecasting: Spearhead the financial planning cycle, from budgeting to forecasting, ensuring alignment with overarching business objectives.
- Performance Evaluation: Establish and monitor KPIs to assess project performance, fostering continuous improvement and identifying avenues for growth.
- Stakeholder Communication: Act as the financial intermediary between senior management and project teams, translating financial data into compelling narratives that guide strategic choices.
- Financial Risk Assessment: Recognize and mitigate financial risks, ensuring the long-term sustainability and profitability of our research endeavors.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
- Commercial Acumen: You possess a deep understanding of the commercial landscape and can navigate it effectively.
- Analytical Skills: You excel at converting data into insights and actionable strategies.
- Stakeholder Engagement: You are an effective communicator, capable of influencing decision-makers across various levels.
- Professional Experience: Demonstrated experience in a finance business partnering capacity, preferably within research, consulting, or a related sector.
- Qualifications: ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified, finalist, or part qualified, with a solid foundation in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Adhere to the requirements of our Operating Standards and all relevant ISO standards.
- Other responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.
