Financial Accountant Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Accountant to join our dynamic UK finance team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for a broad range of duties including month-end reporting and providing business support, while ensuring that our strong financial control environment is maintained.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Finance Manager and Financial Controller in producing monthly Financial Statements, including preparation of monthly accruals and prepayments, review and maintenance of fixed asset registers, preparation of intercompany entries, and preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Assist in the production of monthly and quarterly performance reporting by providing variance analysis on your areas of responsibility.
  • Ensure that the documented internal controls are followed to safeguard the continued strong internal control environment, including identifying potential efficiencies and areas of development.
  • Support the annual audit process, including working with the external auditors.
  • Prepare VAT returns and perform other duties as requested by the Finance Manager/Financial Controller.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA or ACCA)
  • Experienced in month-end close to tight deadlines
  • Knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and deliver high-quality work
  • Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
