We are seeking a Plant Operations Engineer to become a vital member of our powder manufacturing division.

Role Overview

In the capacity of Plant Operations Engineer, you will be instrumental in maintaining the efficient functioning of our manufacturing facilities, ensuring that both annual goals and corporate strategies are achieved. Key responsibilities include:

  • Assist the Manufacturing Leader in executing the production schedule, ensuring that potential risks are evaluated and their impacts are recognized and managed to meet targets.
  • Serve as the technical authority for the operational domain, encompassing process assets, standard operating procedures, and operational systems.
  • Enhance SHE performance by mentoring and influencing shift teams to realize the value stream SHE strategy and objectives.
  • Identify discrepancies and facilitate their resolution through root cause analysis (RCA), including Accident/Incident Management (AIMS) Events and corrective action reports (CARs).
  • Collaborate with the Manufacturing Leader to drive efficiencies in routine operations and pinpoint continuous improvement opportunities within the Victrex Management System (VMS), focusing on:
    ➢ Quality management processes and enhancement plans
    ➢ Overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) and operating expenses (OPEX) management processes and improvement strategies
    ➢ Development of operational systems and skill enhancement
    ➢ Lean workplace organization
    ➢ Ownership of the failure mode effect analysis (FMEA) process
    ➢ Formulation of standard operating procedures and root cause analysis methodologies
  • Manage OEE data and establish mechanisms for operator engagement to ensure precise data collection, thorough analysis, and resolution.
  • Conduct technical assessments within the production environment for all management of change submissions.
  • Guide shift teams on all facets of safety, quality, delivery, costs, and performance.
  • Assist the Manufacturing Leader in investigating customer complaints.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess exceptional communication and teamwork abilities, alongside strong problem-solving skills and the capacity to perform under pressure. Previous experience in a comparable role within the manufacturing or industrial sectors is preferred.

We are looking for individuals with demonstrated knowledge of process optimization and continuous improvement methodologies, as well as an understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations. A bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline is required for this position.
