Health and Safety Specialist

Vega Health and Safety, in partnership with a leading London-based demolition firm, is seeking a Health and Safety Advisor to join their team in South Shields on a large remediation project. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of health and safety are maintained throughout the project.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement effective health and safety strategies to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor health and safety practices and provide guidance to staff.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure health and safety considerations are integrated into project planning.
  • Investigate incidents and near-misses, and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in health and safety management, preferably in a demolition or construction environment.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
