Procurement Specialist II

As a key member of Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., you will have the distinct opportunity to assist the Senior Buyer in Purchasing by fostering strategic partnerships with our suppliers. Your contributions will be vital in enhancing supplier performance in terms of quality and delivery, while also addressing supply chain risks through effective contract and relationship management practices. In this position, you will be responsible for various projects and will have an expanded scope of procurement and sourcing duties.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Senior Buyer in generating ideas and strategies aimed at boosting operational efficiency and overall business performance. Establish and review supplier contracts. Resolve complex issues related to pricing, quality, delivery, or payment. Investigate and assess opportunities to mitigate risks and lower costs. Enhance procurement processes and develop work instructions. Cultivate collaborative relationships with colleagues across various departments within the organization. Lead and support initiatives for continuous improvement. Provide assistance to the Material Planning team. Create and maintain management information reports.Relationship Management:
Collaborate, negotiate, and engage with stakeholders involved in new projects, supplies, and initiatives. Address and communicate any issues or concerns that may arise, ensuring they are resolved appropriately. Support product change requests and evaluate their effects on capacity plans. Build, maintain, and manage supplier relationships effectively. Develop strong working relationships with Material Planning, Category Management, and Supplier Quality teams.Self Management:

Proven experience in strategic procurement, ideally within a fast-paced manufacturing setting. Strong leadership capabilities. Familiarity with working in a regulated environment. Experience in risk and contract management. Ability to contribute positively, reduce expenses, and drive operational improvements. Project management experience. Strong technical knowledge and understanding of supply chain management. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficient in computer applications, including advanced Excel skills.Working Environment:
Primarily operates in an office environment with occasional travel requirements.-
