Position Overview: The role of the Liberty Safeguards Coordinator involves the meticulous management of referrals originating from various healthcare settings, including hospitals, care facilities, and other professional entities. This position is crucial in identifying potential instances of Deprivation of Liberty, thereby activating the responsibilities of the Supervisory Body, which is typically the Local Authority.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive and document referrals related to potential Deprivation of Liberty cases.
  • Ensure timely progression of these referrals to uphold individual rights within the legal framework.
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to facilitate assessments and interventions as mandated by the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.

Qualifications:

  • A comprehensive understanding of the administrative processes associated with Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.
  • Familiarity with the legal obligations of the supervisory body.
  • Prior experience in office administration is essential.
  • Experience working within the guidelines of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards is highly desirable.
