We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Senior Children's Support Worker to join our team at a modern residential children's home in Bodmin. As a Senior Children's Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting young people between the ages of 8-16 years old with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and challenging behaviours.

The ideal candidate will be a committed and resilient individual who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people. You will be responsible for leading by example, mentoring and supporting newer staff members, and promoting the independence and well-being of the young people in our care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead by example and support the management team to run the shift
  • Mentor and support newer staff members
  • Encourage young people to take responsibility for their own lives
  • Maintain a safe and homely environment
  • Deal with challenging behaviours when needed
  • Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare
  • Provide support for the children and young people in the home

Requirements:

  • Experience as a Children's Support Worker or with Young People is essential
  • Experience within another healthcare or social care setting is essential
  • Level 3 NVQ in Children & Young People
