About the Role:

As a key member of our team at F.P.T. Industries Limited, you will be responsible for overseeing the logistics function, setting and achieving targets, and ensuring a safe and efficient working environment. This role requires strong leadership and coaching skills to motivate and influence a team of operators, administrators, and team leaders in a fast-paced logistics environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain a safe working environment, adhering to all relevant health and safety protocols.
  • Manage a team of logistics professionals, including team leaders, operators, and administrators, to ensure seamless operations and efficient use of resources.
  • Lead process improvement projects to enhance efficiency, productivity, and quality, while minimizing costs and waste.
  • Conduct regular training needs assessments and develop training plans to ensure all team members have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
  • Implement and maintain inventory management policies and procedures, including cycle counting, stock control, and transactional movements.
  • Own and manage the cost of poor quality (COPQ), including stock levels and shelf-life constraints, to minimize waste and optimize inventory levels.
  • Create a culture of ownership and responsibility among team members, promoting a right-first-time approach and continuous improvement.
  • Set and review Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) regularly to ensure targets are met and standards are maintained.
  • Manage export control legislation and collaborate with external support networks to ensure compliance.
  • Develop and implement Performance Development Plans (PDPs) with team members, setting objectives and ensuring timely completion.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Full driving license
  • ERP/MRP experience essential
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar logistics role
  • A can-do attitude with a drive to succeed in a team environment

Desirable Experience & Skills:

  • Continuous improvement experience, including 5S methodologies
  • Knowledge of import and export compliance
  • SAP system knowledge

Required Qualification Requirements:

  • Leadership or management qualification
  • Supply Chain or Logistics experience or relevant qualifications
  • Forklift license
