This role involves collaborating with a distinguished executive team to spearhead the formulation and execution of our financial and commercial strategies during a pivotal phase of our development.

GOSH stands as a premier institution in pediatric healthcare. As a specialized acute hospital, our mission is to deliver outstanding care to children and adolescents facing rare, complex, and challenging medical conditions. Since our inception in 1852, we have been devoted to advancing children's health and discovering innovative treatments for childhood diseases.

The past five years have marked significant strides towards our objectives for children's health, alongside a substantial rise in patients seeking our services, both locally and globally. We are in the process of constructing a new Cancer Centre, which will enhance our capacity and enable us to provide even higher standards of patient care. Additionally, we have adopted the EPIC Electronic Patient Record system, which opens up avenues for improving our operational efficiency, collaboration, and clinical research, innovation, and discovery.

Key Responsibilities

Building on our solid foundations, we are in search of a seasoned financial leader who can contribute uniquely to children's health and care both in the UK and internationally. Reporting directly to our Chief Executive, Matthew Shaw, this Financial Executive Officer will lead a proficient finance team, ensuring optimal planning and management of our financial resources. This includes balancing and maximizing our diverse income streams to guarantee the sustainable delivery of high-quality services and investments in personnel, research, innovation, and infrastructure. Furthermore, this role will involve leading various commercial and system partnerships and negotiations related to research, innovation, and the advancement of our private care services.

As our new Financial Executive Officer, you will possess a proven track record of impactful financial leadership and management within complex environments of relevant scale, whether in the public or private sector, ideally within a regulated, service-oriented context. You will be dedicated to fostering inclusive and diverse teams and have a history of cultivating organizational cultures that emphasize openness, transparency, and continuous improvement.
