Overview of the Role:

In this position, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the academic achievement and inclusion of students with special educational needs. Working alongside teachers, special education professionals, and other staff members, you will contribute to fostering a supportive and encouraging learning environment for all students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver personalized assistance to students with special educational needs, modifying teaching strategies and resources as necessary.
  • Execute and assess individualized education and behavior plans in collaboration with the SEN Coordinator and teaching staff.
  • Partner with educators to tailor instruction and promote an inclusive classroom setting.
  • Facilitate the participation of students with special needs in mainstream classroom activities.
  • Work together with colleagues to exchange important insights regarding student progress and challenges.
  • Engage with parents to provide updates on student development and collaborate on support strategies at home.
  • Design and modify educational resources to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Identify and implement suitable assistive technologies in conjunction with teaching staff.
  • Encourage the independence and self-advocacy skills of students with special educational needs.

Qualifications:

  • Certification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent (Preferred).
  • Experience working with students with special educational needs, preferably in a mainstream educational environment (Preferred).
  • Understanding of various special needs, including autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and speech and language challenges.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of educators.
  • Patience, empathy, and a sincere commitment to fostering a positive learning atmosphere.
