We want to use our circular model to inspire tomorrow’s cyclists. To do this we aim to be a top three provider of kids bikes In Europe. We want families to be able to join Bike Club from Barcelona to Berlin to London.

As the Head of Operations, you will have a significant impact across the business and on tomorrow’s cyclists. You will be driving profitable growth and excellent delivery experiences for Bike Club's members. Join us and play a crucial role in Bike Club's ongoing success.

Tasks

What Are We Looking For:
We are looking for our first Head of Operations to lead our UK production and logistics operation.

In this exciting new role, you will report directly to the COO, managing teams at two sites at Rainham and Beckton. Your primary objective will be to lead the production, warehousing and logistics teams to drive profitable growth and excellent delivery experiences for our UK based customers.

As part of this role you will collaborate with other stakeholders in the business both within the UK, and in Spain and Germany. You will regularly interact with the Senior Leadership team of Bike Club and will be required to present insights and report back on operational performance.

We are seeking a highly analytical person, with strong leadership skills, able to connect with employees working on the production line and in the warehouse, as well as the senior team on a regular basis.

What you’ll do:
End-to-end management of customer orders: You manage the end-to-end order flow and ensure a seamless process from the storefront, through the backend systems, to shipping in the warehouse and final delivery to increase customer satisfaction and the efficiency of order processing.

Product supply: Collaborate with the Merchandising Team to ensure full inventory coverage in the online store and a continuous supply of spare parts and consumables.

Driving the production Workshop: Building and overseeing the local production team, including physical facility, staff and day-to-day operations to ensure efficient processes and quality controls. Evaluate performance through data analysis and KPIs you have defined in collaboration with the COO.

Process Improvement: You identify areas for process optimization, automation and standardization to increase productivity and reduce errors.

Strategic Planning: Working with senior management to develop and implement the company's operational and technology strategies to align them with overall business objectives.

Warehouse Management: Maintain a clean and efficient warehouse, with clear material flows

Cross-functional collaboration: You will work closely with other departments such as finance, marketing and human resources to ensure seamless integration of technology and operations across the company.

Supplier Management: Work closely with our logistics partners and service providers to ensure excellence in service delivery.

Project Management and Implementation of Technology: Manage a programme of operations improvement activities, including ongoing development of our in-house Warehouse Management System, and hold your team accountable to delivering improvements

Team Management: Manage a the Ops team of 30+ people across 2 sites, providing opportunities for them to develop, keeping them engaged and creating a performance culture

Spend 3-4 days a week at both sites and one day per week at our HQ in Borough, London

Requirements

You should consider this role if:

  • You have 7-10 years experience leading operational teams of 10+ people.
  • You have a strong background in DTC, customer facing businesses and demonstrable experience in production and/or warehousing.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
  • You have an understanding of lean manufacturing principle.
  • You are not afraid to get your hands dirty, and are just as happy on the warehouse floor as in the C-suite room.
  • You are comfortable with technology and have experience using Asana, Slack, Salesforce, MS Office and presenting to senior stakeholders.
  • You have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and can pull together. disparate sources of data to compile reports and create budgets.
  • You have experience managing a department budget.
  • You enjoy leading people and thrive on helping them to succeed.
  • You have a track record of collaborating closely with Senior Leadership teams
  • Knowledge of cross-border logistics a plus.
  • You have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
