At MIB our people are passionate about making roads safer by getting uninsured and hit-and-run drivers off our roads. Working in partnership with the Police, Insurers and Government our collective aim is to make it a thing of the past but, until that’s accomplished, we’re here to compensate victims quickly, fairly and compassionately.

Last year we helped more than 42,000 people struck by uninsured and hit-and-run drivers and paid over £400 million in compensation to support victims rebuild their lives.

We currently have some exciting opportunities for experienced Property Damage Claims Handlers and Trainee Claims Handlers.
We're looking for talented people to join our dedicated and friendly Claims Team. This is a great opportunity for someone either looking to start a career in a motor claims environment or for someone with previous property damage and/or personal injury claims handling experience to further develop their existing skills.
The main purpose of this role is to support and, where appropriate, compensate victims of negligent uninsured and hit and run motor accidents in the UK, Scotland and Northern Ireland - handling your own portfolio of claims which have been presented by direct customers and/or their representatives, from submission through to settlement or closure.

Key Outputs
- Manage the claims process from end to end, treating customers fairly
- Collaborate and maintain effective working relationships with the wider team
- Make timely and effective decisions on ID, liability and Quantum to ensure business targets are met
- Analyse evidence to make informed decisions in support of lifecycles
- Plan and prioritise own workload, in line with changing requirements
- To be outcomes focused in delivering the best result for claimants and member insurers
- Contribute in creating and maintaining a high performing culture
- Act as a role model for our principles: Think Big; Inspire and Customer First
- Work in conjunction with company policies and procedures
- Ensure that all data protection requirements are complied with

Relationships

Qualifications and Education

Skills and Knowledge
- Experience of working in a customer focused or telephony role
- Attention to detail, with high levels of accuracy
- Taking initiative and deriving solutions
- Excellent listening and questioning skills, with the ability to extract detailed and relevant information
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Computer skills, including experience of using MS Office
- A good understanding of motor insurance and claims principles in general is highly desirable but not essential

Salary circa £23,000 depending on experience
Grade 7
35 hours per week (Monday - Friday)
£320 (before tax) start up allowance
