St Andrews, United Kingdom University of St Andrews Full time

An opportunity has arisen to join our Student Conduct Team as we expand to accommodate a new Student Conduct Officer. This is an exciting time for the Student Conduct Team, as we embark upon a comprehensive review of processes, procedures and structures related to our management of student conduct, with a view to enhancing our activity to include outreach activity on aspirational conduct. We are introducing this open-ended position to increase our capacity to manage caseload and to enhance the services we provide across the University.

This is a complex and demanding area of work, requiring professionalism, tact, discretion, and the ability to navigate complex and highly sensitive issues relating to areas such as sexual misconduct, racism, LGBTQ+ matters, bullying, drug and alcohol abuse, and other types of misconduct.

We are looking for a resilient and flexible team-player with a strong awareness of student conduct issues, who is able to act calmly in the face of conflict, difficult behaviours and sensitive topics. You will be experienced in providing advice and guidance, and an excellent communicator in all forms. You will be passionate about creating and encouraging community-focused behaviours to ensure an excellent experience for all members of the community, both within the University, the town of St Andrews, and with other external stakeholders.

Applications are particularly welcome from people from the Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) community, and other protected characteristics who are under-represented in professional posts at the University.

This post will/may be primarily based at the Eden Campus at Guardbridge, a state-of-the-art working environment for professional services units.
