Greater Manchester Cancer Alliance is looking to appoint a Senior Programme Lead for Education to lead the Greater Manchester Cancer Education Programme.

The post holder will be a senior member within the Workforce and Education Team and will lead the Cancer Academy team to deliver the Greater Manchester Cancer Education Strategy. The programme will require innovation, transformation and strong leadership from the Senior Programme Lead.

The post-holder will play a key role in identifying / addressing the training needs of both generalists and specialists to achieve a one workforce model for Greater Manchester, aligned to National and Regional People Plans.

**The Senior Programme Lead will be responsible for**:

- Development of a Greater Manchester Cancer Education Strategy and implementation plan
- Overseeing delivery of the Greater Manchester Education Principles
- Leading the education programme on behalf of the Workforce and Education team and manage the Cancer Academy team
- Establishing the Cancer Education board and subgroups to ensure deliverables are met within specific timeframes
- Leading regional / national work related to education and transformation
- Building strong links with key partners including Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) / Health Education England (HEE) / Integrated Care System (ICS) / Cancer Research UK (CRUK) / Macmillan etc. to identify collaboration opportunities
- Managing the Greater Manchester Cancer Conference in collaboration with key stakeholders.

We are looking for a passionate and innovative individual with strong leadership skills, previous experience leading education transformation across multiple organisations, experience working with a variety of senior stakeholders, and leading projects in complex and challenging environments.

Greater Manchester Cancer Alliance (GM Cancer) is a venture that brings together patients, charities, NHS and academic institutions with the aim of securing world-class cancer outcomes and experience for our population. Greater Manchester Cancer is the cancer programme of the Greater Manchester Integrated Care Board.
The Alliance Workforce and Education team are dynamic, diligent, and passionate about supporting the cancer workforce to ensure they have equitable access to training and education to develop the right skills to respond to the needs of people affected by cancer, adapt to new, improved ways of working, continue to modernise the way they work, and embrace technology in order to deliver the best quality healthcare.

The Senior Programme Lead will be a senior member within the Workforce and Education Team and will be responsible for:

The Senior Programme Lead will be responsible for the planning, design, monitoring and evaluation of the Cancer Academy to ensure alignment with the GM Cancer Education principles and Cancer Workforce and Education strategy.

**The roles and responsibilities are as follows**:
Management and Leadership
- To provide senior leadership for the Greater Manchester Cancer Academy team and portfolio of work programmes covering multiple organisations and agencies.
- Responsible for the delivery of the GM Cancer Education programme against short, medium and long-term key performance indicators. Delegating delivery of work, ensuring the appropriate allocation of internal/external resources/expertise to deliver the programmes as required to ensure strategic objectives are met.
- Procure/commission externally run education programmes as required.
- Work alongside partner organisations and agencies to co-deliver education were required and promote partnership working.
- Effective management of risk including allowing for flexibility and resilience in plans to accommodate change (e.g. changes in government policy, evolving system needs, technological advances, evaluation of a range of performance data).
- Decision making in an uncertain environment, where the outcomes are not immediately apparent - no ‘right’ answer exists (e.g. programmes with no precedent,
