Following approval from the Department of Education, HEE has been awarded funding to develop a NHS National Supported Internship programme for young people with Learning Difficulties and/or Disabilities (LDD) as well as Autism.

You will have the necessary skills to liaise with local education providers to provide a work experience programme for students with LDD.

The post holder will be required to work between various sites. Willingness to travel is essential.

The Work Experience Lead would be responsible for working directly with local schools and colleges to ensure young people with learning disabilities difficulties or Autism are able to access supported work experience in the NHS. The role will involve planning management and delivery of experience across a range of NHS and partners organisations.

**The work experience lead will**:

- Plan, co-ordinate, deliver and monitor a broad range of complex tasks or programmes of work to ensure the expected outcomes of the Project choice team.
- Engage with key stakeholders to ensure widening participation and engagement with NHS organisations.

The work experience lead will also be part of a wider national team for Choices College (formally Project Choice) supporting the development of placements and recruitment of interns year on year.

Secondments

Applicants will commence at the bottom of Band 6 with a full-time starting salary of £35,392, with pay step increases after 2 years’ service and 5 years' service.
