Come and join us as our new Senior HSE Advisor working in the on site HSE team in Nufarm, Wyke

As our Senior HSE Advisor on this growing site you will be a key person in the team by assisting the HSE department in providing a service to Manufacturing, Maintenance and other work groups to ensure continually improving HSE performance based on effective and legally compliant HSE Management Systems

Nufarm is investing massively into the Wyke site committing its biggest financial investment in manufacturing in the company history to the Wyke site. This is a real opportunity for you to contribute advice and guidance to line management on the definition and maintenance of systems and procedures that ensure adherence to and compliance with safety, health and environmental legislation and regulation generally.

What’s possible?

Actively involved in auditing operational activities, systems and procedures to ensure compliance with systems and thus with regulation.
Progress requisite activities to maintain professional relationships with external regulators and verifiers such as the Environment Agency and the Health & Safety Executive.
Actively involved in undertaking risk assessments on site.
Actively involved in conducting and reviewing HSE related RCAs to ensure that root causes are correctly identified.
Actively involved in reviewing accident and incident data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Actively involved in Hazops and transfer to manufacture processes ensuring the effectiveness of the process and maintain appropriate records.
Undertake requisite activities to ensure the competence from a HSE viewpoint of contractors, including approval of management processes, induction and auditing of on-site activities.
Assist in the continual development of a sustainable behavioural safety culture on site.
Support the development and adaption of effective and well-practiced plans to deal with an emergency on site, and undertake liaison with the emergency services as necessary.
Develop and deliver HSE training on site as needed to cover site requirements.
Assist the HSE Manager in ensuring the maintenance of the COMAH safety report, Environmental Permitting Regulations Permit, Hazardous Substances Planning consents, and other statutory licences and authorisations, and update in light of changes on site.
Assist in ensuring that all the statutory reporting requirements to the regulators are met.

What do you bring?

We are looking for an energetic and proactive team player with the relevant qualification of a NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent level 6 HSE industry qualification. While chemicals industry and COMAH site experience is an advantage it is not required for this role.

You will however, have great communication, customer service and a collaborative skillsets and live and breathe the company values on site.

As our Senior HSE Advisor on site you will have experience in auditing, risk assessments, RCA, HAZID and HAZOP techniques and training and coaching and of manual handling.
