Driver - Non Emergency Patient Transfer

Use your driving skills for good to assist older and vulnerable people to attend a variety of medical appointments. You will provide a friendly face and listening ear by putting them at ease during what can be an anxious and stressful time. You will provide that personal touch to brighten their day as you collect a patient from their home, help get them to where they need to be at the hospital, and make sure they get safely back to their own home.
To be successful in this role you will be a careful driver willing to go the extra mile to help older and vulnerable people. You will have a good knowledge of the road system in York and North Yorkshire and be able to use a PDA (training given) to record details of your journeys accurately.
Age UK York is an independent local charity supporting older people in the city to maintain their well-being and independence. You would be joining a Charity with over 50 years of making lives better in York.
This role involves driving an Age UK York wheelchair-accessible vehicle and transporting people who need help to get around. The role is based at York Hospital and will involve regular travel across the wider region.
**You will receive**:

- 27.5 days leave pro rata plus bank holidays per annum.
The role is a permanent position, three days a week (Wednesday - Friday) with occasional overtime.

Pay: £11.44 per hour
Expected hours: 22.5 per week
