The Operations Lead will work closely with the Operations Manager, **Airline Operators Committee** (AOC) member airlines and AOC associate members (Handlers), acting as a member representative to ensure that Heathrow Airport Limited (HAL) provides the facilities, resource and infrastructure to deliver the best possible passenger experience above wing, below wing and in airfield operations for all AOC members.

The primary areas of focus for the role will be on airside, baggage and below wing operations at Heathrow, whilst also providing support to the Operations Manager and rest of AOC team on other operational challenges and issues.

In focusing on the below wing, the Operations Lead will seek to understand key challenges of airlines, handlers, HAL and other stakeholders (including NATS) to ensure the AOC represents its member interests. This knowledge and influence should be used to accelerate the delivery of improvement plans & projects that will add value across the Heathrow Airport campus. Equally, the Operations Lead should challenge unnecessary spend in any area that it is not felt will deliver tangible improvements, benefits or add value for money for AOC members.

The role will involve being exposed to, and participating in, a range of forums with senior airline and airport stakeholders which form a key part of various governance processes across Heathrow Airport. It will be the role of the Operations Lead to dissect the content of such forums, provide input as the airline representative, challenge relevant stakeholders when it is felt decisions are not delivering for AOC membership, and to disseminate appropriate information to AOC members to keep them informed. Constant dialogue and effective two-way communication with AOC membership must be maintained to ensure the Operations Manager is always representing the best interests of the community.
