Amberleigh Care is a privately owned, specialist therapeutic child care and education service. We are not the same as other residential child care settings in that we have a very defined profile of young people - we do one thing - and we are experts in that field. This means that we do not offer emergency placements, we have very carefully matched and long-term stable placements. Our working model informs the way staff and trained and supported and our multidisciplinary teams are diverse in age, gender, experiences and backgrounds. It works - for children, for staff and for placing local authorities.

**This role is based in Welshpool, Powys**

**£11.51 p/h - £12.25 p/h**

**This role is for waking nights 22.00 - 08.00 or 23.00 - 09.00 on a 4 on 3 off rolling rota**

**Part time positions (35hrs/week) also available with a 4 on 4 off rolling rota**

To contribute to the maintenance and provision of a high quality therapeutic community residential service for young people. The primary role is to provide safety, security and support to young people during the night time hours. It is acknowledged that for prolonged periods, the young people will be asleep. These periods provide opportunities for important administrative and domestic tasks which play a vital support role in the overall functioning of the home

**Key Responsibilities and Duties**
- To assist the Management team in providing the highest possible standards of care guidance, support and protection for the young people and co-operate fully with colleagues in achieving these objectives whilst remembering the needs of the child are paramount.
- To carry out any of the practical tasks out lined on individual job lists.
- Supervision of clients at night. Regularly checking both in house and grounds
- Record keeping and administration as required to include supporting with auditing and maintenance of children's files, collation of reports and communication with external agencies.
- Familiarising themselves with written fire drill procedures, location and use of fire extinguishers and alarms and other necessary safety precautions and to implement such procedures as and when appropriate.
- To be constantly vigilant on health and safety matters
- Security of the home at night.
- Ensuring that Amberleigh Care is kept clean and tidy.
- Attendance at Staff meetings, and any other meeting as required
- To complete mandatory and regulatory training as required and provided by the organisation
- Responsibility to understand and promote Amberleigh Care’s policies in relation to care and control, child protection, open access to records and equal opportunities.
- Dressing appropriately at all times when on duty.
- Any other duties delegated by the Care Manager and senior staff.
- To work with and maintain a high level of supervision of young people
- To be aware of and to understand the needs of Looked After Children

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 35-40 per week

**Salary**: £24,008.00-£25,557.00 per year
