Assist in providing specific diagnostic and therapeutic care to patients, in support of and supervised by Registered Nurses.

Carry out assigned duties, which also maintain hygiene orderliness and safety of the ward.

The overriding purpose is to support the provision of the highest quality patient care through personal actions and continuous improvement.
To contribute to delivering a philosophy of care which is patient focused, promotes high standards of quality and cleanliness facilitating an environment which is conducive to best practice in all aspects of patient care and rehabilitation.

Working in support of the multi-disciplinary team in the acute stroke setting.

Provide care to patients to meet their individual needs with the focus on the promotion of independence.

To enhance and facilitate the stroke patients’ clinical pathway including the maintenance of therapy provision following agreed carer plans.

Using a team approach the Ward role is to deliver a high standard of a high standard of care for patients with medical related conditions.

To provide acute stroke services which are responsive, effective and efficient in the provision of care to patients.

Work proactively to reduce hospital bed days and facilitate effective, timely discharge.

To evaluate services and ensure a proactive consistent approach across the organisation.
