Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Support Worker to join our team at Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Multi Skilled Support Worker, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care in our acute medical setting.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional patient care and support in a fast-paced acute medical environment.
  • Work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team to deliver outstanding care and achieve excellent patient outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and colleagues to ensure a positive and supportive care environment.
  • Participate in the delivery of first-line treatments and care to stabilize acutely ill patients prior to discharge.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of a safe, prompt, and timely care environment, adhering to Trust policies and procedures.
Person Specification
  • Essential
    • Demonstrate excellent communication skills and understanding of basic requirements for individual patient care.
    • Recognize and respect patients' rights to privacy and dignity.
  • Desirable
    • Awareness of safeguarding issues and a commitment to maintaining a safe care environment.
  • Qualifications
    • NVQ 3 in care or willingness to work towards.
    • Good standard of general education equivalent to GCSE Maths & English level C or above.
    • Care Certificate or commitment to achieving within 2 weeks of commencement.
  • Further Training
    • Able to attend a 5-day clinical induction.
    • Commitment to attending further training and development as identified.
  • Experience
    • Able to demonstrate clear and robust verbal and written English communication skills.
    • Experience of working as part of a team.
    • Previous care work experience.
    • Previous face-to-face customer care experience.
  • Contractual
    • Flexible approach.
    • Able to work flexibly on a varied shift pattern according to the roster, including nights and weekends.
