**Residential Support Worker: Onboard our canal boat**

**Hours: 40 hours per week**

**Salary: starting at £25,790.40 per annum inclusive of sleep-in benefits**

We have a really unique opportunity for you

If you're a dedicated Support Worker who loves the outdoors and wishes to make a difference, this is the perfect role for you.

We are proud to operate the only registered floating children’s home in the country and a position has become available for care staff to join the existing established team. No experience of operating canal boats is necessary as full training to become a skipper will be given.

You will be living and working with the young people, on board our canal boat, and key responsibilities will include providing individualised day to day support, promoting personal care, following care plans, and ensuring the care, safety and welfare of the young people at all times. Alongside the day-to-day duties, you will also be supporting our young People with building social skills, independent living and self-regulation / management of behaviours.

The ideal person for this role will have a positive attitude towards working with young people, have a flexible approach to their work as they could be working away from home for short periods, and have an understanding of the needs of young people, together with the ability to deal with challenging situations with compassion and an understanding of the behaviours being displayed. It is essential that you are able to work well as part of a team and on an individual basis.

In return, you are offered a salary starting at £25,790.40 per annum inclusive of sleep-ins and the opportunity to gain your Skippers license (adding an extra £1000 to your salary)
