**Support Worker - Skelmersdale**

**Permanent**

As a Support Worker, you will be:

- Providing physical and mental stimulation for the residents by taking part in social and recreational activities, on a one-to-one and group basis.
- Assisting or encouraging service users with personal care activities such as washing, personal hygiene and dressing.
- Assisting with Planning meal times and cooking
- Ensuring service users' independence, dignity and respect, by delivering the very best person-centred care.
- Helping to maintain accurate records and risk assessments
- Promoting health and well-being for the residents
- maintaining a safe and secure environment, in accordance to health and safety/COSH/fire regulations
- Undertaking regular ongoing training and E-learning

Essential requirements:

- At least 12 months experience within a Forensic or Adult Residential mental health or Learning Disability environment.
- You must have experience working with behaviours that challenge and excellent verbal de-escalation skills and crisis management
- You must be good at working under pressure and within a challenging environment
- Good understanding of safeguarding adults and children
- You must be able to identify risk and complete risk assessments
- You must be able to maintain confidentiality and have experience in case management.
- Be Reliable & trustworthy
- Have a Willingness to learn
- You must have effective communication skills
- Experience in medication administration and adverse reactions
- Quality orientation
- Clear DBS
