Overview

Our dementia support services are designed to help those who live with dementia to keep up the lifestyle they enjoy for as long as possible, and to offer some comfort and support when they’re facing unfamiliar or difficult situations.

We’re currently looking for an Activity Group Co-ordinator to join us for a fixed-term contract until the end of March 2024, on a part-time basis, working 14 hours over two days per week.

The Role

As an Activity Group Co-ordinator, you will facilitate the delivery of activity and support groups for people in the Scottish Borders area living with dementia and their carers and/or families.

Specifically, you will support the Service Manager to plan and deliver five regular groups across the region and provide a wide range of activities.

You will prepare and set up sessions, deliver a range of activities and seek feedback from attendees whilst adjusting group delivery accordingly.

**Your role will also involve**:

- Arranging refreshments and/or meals for the groups
- Assisting the recruitment and co-ordination of volunteers
- Performing a range of administrative duties
- Supporting local fundraising activities
- Ensuring compliance with H&S, Food Hygiene and Safeguarding requirements

Working Hours

This is a part-time position, working 14 hours per week over two days for a fixed-term contract until the end of March 2024.

What you’ll need
- Experience of working with people living with dementia and/or their carers
- Experience of delivering activities within a group setting
- An understanding of the benefit of group settings and activities for people living with dementia
- Knowledge of how to safeguard vulnerable adults
- Good IT skills including MS Office, Word, Excel and client database management
- Strong organisation skills
- Excellent communication and listening skills
- A full, valid driving licence (and access to a vehicle with business insurance)
