A superb opportunity has arisen for a pension professional with a good level of technical knowledge of benefit schemes.

The role will be dedicated to processing an efficient pensions service to all West Midlands Police Personnel in a smooth and seamless manner, as well as providing high quality customer service. You will actively contribute to the overall objectives of the Force, whilst participating in achieving team objectives.

Our pensions department is based in our headquarters at Lloyd House Birmingham, and after initial training as potential to introduce some hybrid working.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Handling data processing and pension tasks, ensuring projects are fully monitored and completed in line with legislation requirements
- Interrogating multiple systems to extract, monitor, record and amend data
- Determining, calculating and advising members of their benefit entitlements
- Monitor procedural developments, implementing changes to procedures as required
- Producing ad-hoc letters to ‘draft’ standards in response to customer queries or ‘final’ letter for standard processes

**Essential Skills**:

- Able to follow instructions, procedures and assimilate information quickly and accurately with good attention to detail
- Able to Interrogate systems to ensure accurate date is held and update as required
- Deliver results in a highly pressured environment,
- Able to prioritise and manage own workload offering a flexible approach to work pressures
- Recognise the need and offer a customer focused approach
- Ability to build effective, collaborative relationships with a wide range of stakeholders within, and associated with West Midlands Police
- Knowledge of office-based systems (Excel, Word, Outlook) with a keenness to learn new systems

**Vetting**:Successful applicants will be required to pass Recruitment Vetting and Counter Terrorism Clearance scrutiny prior to commencing their role, this will include a full background & financial disclosure as part of the vetting process.

**Medical**:Appointment to this role will be dependent upon successfully medical checks, which may include a drugs test.
