**The Role**
To manage a case load of serious injury cost cases (up to £100k) pre and post settlement to include drafting Budgets, Cost Schedules and Bills and negotiating to a successful conclusion in line with the Minster Law Expected Recovery Amount.
- To draft budgets on cases that are valued up to £100k and provide technical support to colleagues
- To draft Without Prejudice Schedules and Bills on cases that are valued up to £100k and negotiate with third parties to a successful conclusion and in line with the cost’s recovery expectation set out by Minster Law
- To provide advice to file handlers and advise on offers received against the Bill submitted
- To carry out advocacy
- To deputise for the Costs Team Leader on cost related matters where required
- Lead the identification of continuous improvement opportunities within the team evolving and sharing best practice on how to manage cost cases
- Anticipate operational risks & issues establishing plans to mitigate negative impacts on case progression, customer service, regulatory compliance and technical quality.
**Person Specification**
Essential
- A full understanding of the Civil Procedure Rules regarding costs in Serious Injury cases.
- Strong communication skills and excellent time management.
- Proven track record of dealing with recovery of costs and disbursements.
- Strong technical ability with practical knowledge of the legal procedures.
- Clear understanding of management information.
- Commitment to delivering excellent client care.
**Salary**
Between £28,791 - £43,186 depending on experience
