Preston, United Kingdom Aspris Full time

**Our children’s home in Haighton are recruiting for Waking Night Support Workers now** We are looking for enthusiastic, caring and passionate people to become an integral part of our support team. In this role, you will support our young people and you will be required to be alert and observant at all times. In addition to regular checks on the children and young people you will be assigned additional tasks.

**Our benefits include exclusive access to our reward and discount scheme, comprehensive induction, commitment to your ongoing training and career progression, pension scheme and more**

As a member of our residential care team, you will strive to bring out the best in every young person by supporting and guiding them in their daily lives. This could be in the form of helping the young person at school, accompanying them to take part in an activity (walking, horse riding, trampolining, Duke of Edinburgh etc.) or simply assisting them in completion of general daily tasks, including morning and night time routines.

At Aspris Children’s Services, we are immensely proud of the career pathway and training we can offer you. As long as you can demonstrate the values needed for a role within residential childcare, we will give you all the training and support you need to become a qualified Waking Night Support Worker.

Experience isn’t always essential but there are a few characteristics you will need to be successful in this role:
**Resilience **- We support some of the most vulnerable children in society who have varying degrees of emotional behavioural difficulties, autism, ADHD and associated difficulties so there will be times where your resilience is challenged.

**Communication **- Communicating with our young people is vital to understand their needs. Good teamwork and communication plays a key part in ensuring important information is relayed to other staff.

**Organisation **- You’ll need to be confident and organised in updating care plans and reporting information that will be relevant to the care of our young people.

**Caring **- Our young people require the best care we can offer. If you are a naturally caring and compassionate person, this is the role for you.

**Attentive **- No young person / situation is the same so being attentive to understand them and identify areas where we can support is important and alert within any situation.

Above all, we provide a supportive and collaborative working environment where you can flourish in your career and feel incredibly rewarded by helping those who need it most.
- If you want residential childcare to be a _**_job for life_**_, Aspris Children’s Services will help you there._
