Mechanical Qc Inspector

Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for an experienced QC Inspector with a background in nuclear on a permanent basis, to be located in West Cumbria.
Your role will involve working in a client facing environment on sites with differing working cultures.
As such you will be demonstrating excellent customer service skills and the ability to problem solve.
Also, responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Developing and maintaining excellent relationships with both internal and external customers.
- Deliver independent inspection and quality control services at operating sites and vendors
relating to new equipment in manufacture, fabrication, and construction.
- Review of fabrication / manufacturing documentation within delegated authority levels in
terms of quality plans, ITP’s fabrication / manufacturing procedures, welding procedures,
NDE procedures, compilation, and review of LTQR’s.
- Review of site installation of HVAC systems and associated plant items.

**Requirements**:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the inspection of Welded fabrications / manufactured
- Sound understanding and qualification where necessary in materials, welding and NDE
techniques.
- Have a good working knowledge of UK requirements for Inspection within the nuclear
industry or transferable experience from another high hazard industry.
- Experience and understanding or the ability to learn nuclear and conventional codes and
standards relating to HVAC Systems.
- Be able to demonstrate a proactive, self-motivated approach to technical and non-technical
work.
- Have experience of managing a range of stakeholders and will be able to demonstrate a
successful track record of influencing and negotiating, particularly in technical discussions relating to Inspection.
- Have good technical writing and communication skills.
- Good working knowledge of the Customers quality requirements.
- Good working knowledge of manufacturing techniques and processes.
