An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as part of a dynamic, evolving team within Medical Equipment Libraries at the Northern Care Alliance NHS Group in the role of **Medical Equipment Library Officer**.

Possessing excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills, you must be able to work autonomously and as part of our team. We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to rotate between the hospitals and existing equipment libraries.

**Main duties of the job**:
You will be responsible for (but not limited to) the delivery, retrieval and cleaning of medical devices from the medical equipment library on an operational level.

You will provide guidance to nursing and other staff in use of medical devices and promote the use of the medical equipment library across the organisation.

You shall participate in the performance of the library to ensure the medical equipment library service functions effectively to deliver the required service to clinical areas. You should have strong influencing and negotiation skills and should have a good knowledge of medical devices.

Please note, this is not a medical engineering post.

- Evidence of Level 2 qualifications in numeracy and literacy.
- NVQ level 3 or equivalent in administration or care or relevant experience

**Desirable criteria**:

- ECDL or evidence of ability to use databases, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft word

**Knowledge, Skills and Experience**:
**Essential criteria**:

- Experience of medical equipment within the NHS or within a similar organisation
- Previous experience of working in a team
- Flexible attitude towards work
- Ability to work unsupervised
- A basic knowledge of the range of medical equipment items

**Desirable criteria**:

- Basic knowledge of the use of medical equipment
- Current, full and clean driving license
