**Patient Care Assistant**
**Location**: Calder Vets, Tandem**

**Salary**:£22,000 per annum**

**Job type**:Permanent, Full-time**

**Hours: 40 Hours per week**

Looking to take first steps in a veterinary practice or looking to gain experience in a new environment?

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic animal lover to be part of our current team as a Patient Care Assistant, working enthusiastically to help maintain a happy, efficient and effective working environment.

The practice is well equipped and we support a variety of patients making this practice a great place to start your veterinary career.

**Your role and responsibilities**
- Maintaining Infection control
- Assisting with patient handling and restraint
- Monitoring, recording and providing supportive care to patients under the direction of the Veterinary Surgeon and Registered Veterinary Nurse
- Maintenance of theatre to include preparation of the environment and equipment and cleaning, packaging and sterilisation of sterile supplies
- Assist with the management of the pharmacy including unpacking of orders, stock rotation and environmental temperatures
- Assist with reception and client care to include answering the telephone, dealing with enquiries, booking procedures and taking payments.
