**Role overview**
- To provide advice and assistance to customers on their rehousing options to help prevent homelessness whilst managing the assessment of an applicant’s housing needs using the practical interpretation of the Council’s Allocations Policy and Parts VI and VII of the Housing Act 1996 (as amended by the Homelessness Act 2002) and other legislation as required.
- To support applicants on the Council’s Housing Register to access secure accommodation.
- To engage with partners and co-ordinate the register/database of adapted properties and Disabled Persons Register
- Promote housing options within the borough including downsizing and Extra Care Housing

**Key requirements**
- To work closely with appropriate colleagues to ensure the swift discharge of the Council’s duty to accommodate and prevent homelessness.
- To manage a caseload of vulnerable applicants from the point of registration through to securing suitable accommodation
