**About the function
**System Operator are passionate about capacity. We craft tomorrow's railway to meet future needs of the rail industry. By understanding what the future requirements of the railway are, we can plan the long-term capability of the network, promoting the efficient use of network capacity. We improve the railway for the millions of people who use it every single day.

**Who are we looking for?**

**About the role (External)**:
**What does the average day look like?**

No two days in this role will be the same, you will provide data management expertise to customers and stakeholders with relation to timetable planning data and associated systems, supporting the resolution of complex data activities. Working alongside existing CPD Specialists you will lead the provision of SME knowledge and technical expertise to industry stakeholders to oversee the successful transition of project outputs into BAU activities with associated processes and assurance.

**What essential skills and experiences are required?**
- Knowledge of operational planning and timetable processes
- Knowledge of Train Planning System (TPS) software and it’s industry interfaces
- Substantial experience in the management of timetable planning data within core planning tools
- Proven communication and analytical skills, with demonstrated ability to present information effectively and appropriately
- Proven ability to work with industry stakeholders to understand their requirements

**We would also like, but not essential.**
- Knowledge of the rail industry and its regulatory framework
- Understanding of railway infrastructure and associated Geography

**Duration**: Permanent

This role is a full-time opportunity, but flexible working patterns will be considered.

We are recruiting for 3 positions

**Location**: This role is based at The Quadrant:MK. For roles based in the Quadrant:MK, you must live within 75/90 minutes of The Quadrant.

**Band & Salary**: Band 4.B £35,582 - £40,029
