**Your new role**

National Highways are recruiting for a Head of Performance Assurance and Business Services (internally known as Head of PABS) within our Operations Directorate in the South West of England. Based in either our Bristol or Exeter offices, you will be leading all business and programme management functions, performance reporting and other support. You will also lead and direct several teams to ensure decision making and the management of the region is effectively planned, governed and delivered. Working with the Regional Leadership team, you will be ensuring the teams are highly productive and efficient in the work they deliver to achieve successful delivery against agreed timescales.

**What you’ll be leading on**
- Establish, develop and lead robust programme management and business support services across the region.
- Lead the reporting, monitoring and assurance of the regional business plan in line with planned budgets, timescales and quality to ensure visibility and performance is updated to the Senior Teams
- Plan and coordinate the programme to ensure proper adherence to all financial and programme governance arrangements are achieved.
- Work collaboratively with business partners to ensure that all project and programme plans are developed, maintained and reported against for successful delivery in line with the agreed strategy.
- Secure all necessary approval decisions to align with stakeholder objectives and agreed timeframe.

**To be successful you will need**
- Experience of working in a safety, customer service and/or delivery orientated related environment
- Experience of leading and managing diverse, geographically spread and multi-functional teams in a customer service oriented environment
- Capability to lead and manage programme, business management and performance reporting functions
- Demonstrable experience in managing and reporting against plans and programmes
- Proven commercial and financial management skills and experience
- Demonstrable experience of leading people and teams to deliver programme management, performance reporting and/or business management functions
