**Overall Purpose of Job**

An exciting role in Aspire, reporting to the Housing Led Projects Manager, the part-time Housing Progression Support Worker will be responsible for assisting Aspire housing staff in supporting our residents across our 3 supported townhouses in central Oxford.

The focus of this role is in preventing people from re-entering homelessness services from a safe and stable base, in the homes that we provide. You will be helping residents to prepare for their move-on into alternative housing via accessing Local Authority, Social Tenancy and Private Rental Sector opportunities and services.

This is a flexible role where you will assist the Aspire housing staff across the 3 townhouses to meet the needs, both of individual residents, and the houses as a whole.

This will be a highly collaborative role where you will have the opportunity to engage with, and be supported by, all of Aspire’s Specialist Workers, covering Education, Training, Employment, Health and Wellbeing, Drug and Alcohol Support & Ex-Offender rehabilitation. As well as external partners including housing associations and local authorities’ housing options teams.

This will include: working alongside the staff responsible for each house to complete referral and assessment processes. You will identify clients’ housing support needs; being aware of trends within the local supported and social housing sector; effectively engaging clients in support planning, identifying their strengths and developing opportunities to build their housing resilience in support of their move into alternative accommodation. You will be responsible for connecting each client to a bespoke support package, including by maintaining positive, collaborative links with partner agencies involved in their care and support.

**Key tasks and accountabilities**

Key tasks and accountabilities are intended to be a guide to the range and level of work expected of the post holder. This is not an exhaustive list of all tasks that may fall to the post holder and employees will be expected to carry out such other reasonable duties which may be required from time to time.

- To complete Risk Assessments and support planning, using a strengths-based approach.
- Assisting residents to complete registration for the most appropriate General Housing Register and gain confidence in their onwards use of this.
- To complete support assessments and create move on plans which you will provide guidance and linkage to progress towards achieving independent living.
- Connect all clients to Aspire’s wider employment, education, training and development support.
- To work closely with Oxford City Council and local authority partners in the county
- You may be required to attend relevant forums to update partner agencies on our activities and client engagement. ( Tenants at Risk-Access Panel)
- To keep up to date case notes on Aspire’s database and other appropriate spreadsheets.
- To support the Programme Manager during data and reporting collation.
- To be enthusiastic, approachable and inspiring
- Comply with all Aspire Safeguarding policy and procedures

**PERSON SPECIFICATION**

**Essential Skills/Qualities**
- An empathetic and non-judgemental attitude to supporting individuals who are experiencing homelessness, and to have an understanding of their difficulties in accessing the housing market, employment and group participation.
- Demonstrable experience of key-working clients who have experience of homelessness, and other additional complex needs (substance use, mental health, offending histories) and may present with challenging behaviour.
- You will possess some practical knowledge of housing legislation and entitlement to benefits.
- Good organisation skills. Ability to prioritise and deliver on a changing work load, sometimes with short deadlines.
- Ability to build rapport and confidence quickly with team members and clients.
- The ability to respond calmly to crisis and deal promptly, effectively, safely and creatively to complex and challenging situations
- Good computer literacy, able to use Microsoft Office suite, Excel, databases and internet search engines.
