We are currently scaling the maturity of our content operations. You will be a part of the central Scottish Government content operations team, which will help determine the future of how, when, and where the government will publish the content, our users need.

As Lead Content Designer, you will play a significant part in making this vision a reality by managing your team of content designers. Your role will involve turning user interactions into situations that are easy to use and understand. Excellent content helps users to use our products to understand complex information and complete particular tasks. Your work will either enhance how the public sector supports end users or directly assist those end users in meeting their needs, depending on the context for the particular content you will support.

**Responsibilities**:
We’re currently a small team needing to expand to meet the increasing demand for content design support and the need to scale content operations in Scottish Government. As an enthusiastic and dedicated person in content design, you’ll be keen to invest the time and effort necessary to make complicated concepts simpler and faster to comprehend for those who need them.

A Lead Content Designer is an expert practitioner and leader who directs a team of content designers. They assure the content quality across whole teams and make sure content aligns to strategy and objectives while meeting the needs of users.

You will oversee content design procedures that are a part of the Scottish

Government's content operations. You will provide a publishing service for one or more business areas, which entails creating original content for those areas. Each piece of content is a standalone item that satisfies a specific user need that the organisation is trying to address with its services.

You will support content designers to plan, create, publish, and review the various content products using the right patterns and formats, such as publications, forms,

and other web content (static or dynamic).

There are 3 main workstreams that you will be involved in:

- Digital operational guidance for public sector bodies
- Service access and rights information for the people and businesses of Scotland
- Strategic development of the future content operations of Scottish Government and other public sector bodies
