Bede’s Summer School is looking for enthusiastic and inspiring individuals for a hybrid role, spending the weekend in an allocated airport terminal to manage the transfers operation and provide a smooth, safe and efficient transfer service. During the week you will support the activities team running activity sessions and leading exciting excursions throughout the UK, whilst remaining focused on the safety and wellbeing of all our students.

You need to be confident and engaging to run and lead our sessions, have previous experience working with children, be friendly and approachable, resourceful and can adapt to situations, have a desire to impact young learners’ lives and enjoy working in a team, promoting a home away from home experience for our students.

Our students come from all over the globe, to develop their English language ability whilst immersing themselves fully in British culture. They’ll be introduced to new interests, given the chance to develop new passions, be able to increase their confidence and expand their knowledge, helping to prepare them for their future.

**MAIN DUTIES AS AN ACTIVITY LEADER**:

- Planning & Managing Activity Sessions: To help plan high-quality, structured, and enjoyable sports and activities in which students feel engaged, inspired, and empowered. To run and manage a range of sports & activities positively, competently, and efficiently, keeping the students’ safety & wellbeing a priority.
- Health & Safety: To understand risk assessments, ensuring Health & Safety procedures are adhered to.
- Excursions: To accompany students on trips and ensure the schedule and protocols run smoothly.
- House Duties: To supervise students, enforce house rules, report issues, and deal with any incidents.
- Pastoral Care: To ensure students’ physical & emotional wellbeing, monitor & manage their conduct, promote a harmonious international community, and report any concerns to the Welfare or Centre Director.
- Teamwork: To be actively involved with and enjoy being part of the centre team.
- Professional Coaching *for those who are suitably qualified*: To provide professional coaching, to an appropriate level, to challenge students, enhance their technique and develop their skills.

**As an Airport Coordinator**:

- Briefing Meetings: To attend a meeting at your allocated airport, to receive the necessary information and be fully briefed on the day’s schedule.
- Central Point of Contact: To be the central point of contact at the airport terminal or train station for students, parents, agents, as well as Bede’s centre staff, Head Office staff and airport or airline staff to ensure a smooth, safe, and efficient transfer service on arrival and departure days.
- Transfer Management: To manage the whole transfer operation at a given airport terminal or train station competently and confidently, ensuring mínimal waiting times to achieve the highest standards of customer service for students, parents, and agents.
- Unaccompanied Minors (UMs): To be the designated Bede’s representative at the terminal, receiving UMs from airline staff on arrival, registering them on departure, and in both cases completing all necessary documentation to provide a safe and effective transfer service from the Airline to Bede’s and vice-versa, during which time the student is accompanied and looked after.
- Problem-Solving: To foresee any potential problems, respond appropriately to delays and last-minute changes and resolve all arising problems, challenges, and issues calmly, professionally, and collaboratively, to ensure the delivery of a professional transfer service.
- Risk Assessments/Health & Safety: To read and understand the risk assessment relevant to the role, ensuring that Health and Safety policies and procedures are being adhered to, for the students to be safe at all times.
- Status Reporting to Head Office: To inform the Transfer team Managers of any deviation from the daily schedule including students not on flights, flight delays, transportation delays, missed flights, unexpected Unaccompanied Minors, alternative arrangements, etc. so that accurate and up-to-date information is always available for Head Office.
- Feedback Reporting to Head Office: To complete reports and provide daily feedback to the Transport Manager to ensure an effective and first-class service is maintained.
