You will also lead a team comprising a Strategic Business Partner and Internal Communication Partners, which will help build a well informed and engaged workforce, motivated to deliver the Group’s strategic objectives.

We’re looking for someone who is a proven leader with a strong track record of leading initiatives which build employee engagement through internal communications, leading to higher levels of organisational capability and business success.

You will also need experience of working closely with a variety of communications staff to ensure an effective flow of information and dialogue throughout an organisation, including hard-to-reach types of staff.

Although not essential, an understanding of working in social housing or wider not-for-profit or public sectors, with an understanding of the distinctive working practices and culture.

**Job purpose**

Devise and deliver a Group internal communications plan, keeping all colleagues informed about and engaged in the strategic direction of the Group, progress to achieving major strategic objectives and its tactical response to change.

Lead a team comprising a Strategic Business Partner and Internal Communication Partners, which will help build a well informed and engaged workforce, motivated to deliver the Group’s strategic objectives.

**Role requires you to**:
**Strategy and planning**
- Work with the Heads of External Affairs and Brand and Marketing to develop an integrated Brand and Communications Strategy for the Group.
- Design, implement and monitor an internal communications plan that keeps our people informed and engaged, supports the Group’s long-term People Plan and provides modern feedback loops to encourage dialogue and discussion at all levels, enabling the ‘employee voice’ to be heard within the organisation.
- Work through a dedicated business partner (and other business partners in the Brand and Marketing Team) to develop a detailed understanding of the Group’s strategy and its demand for services, ensuring business partners also understand the capacity of the team and budgets for outsourcing.
- Play an active role in overall team leadership as a member of the wider Strategy and Public Affairs teams, assisting the Director of Strategy and Public Affairs by deputising from time to time.

**Project Delivery and Performance Management**
- Lead a high quality, modern and engaging internal communications function, identifying key messages, audiences, channels and tactical campaigns aligned to Corporate Objectives, agreeing these with the Group’s leadership team on a periodic basis.
- Oversee the development of a range of modern and effective communication channels for the diverse audiences within our workforce (including hard-to-reach colleagues), that are used appropriately in promoting key messages and encouraging staff to respond and engage actively with developments within the organisation. This will include (but is not limited to) Workplace Social Media Platform and Riverside’s intranet(s).
- Playing a strategic editorial role, oversee the daily creation and management of engaging content distributed through these channels, including written, graphic and video content meeting Riverside’s brand requirements.
- Identify and report on any themes/sentiments that are emerging from employee engagement with our internal communications, using this intelligence to inform future content and strategy.
- Support the Chief Executive and leadership team to be open and visible
