This role will partner members of the UK Insurance Executive Team - specifically the General Manager, Operations, Healthcare Management (OHCM) and our Digital Propositions Director and their direct reports). OHCM is our largest area with circa 1,400 employees and their role is to ensure our healthcare services are market leading, our claims are handled well and our customer service is market leading. The Digital Propositions function ensures our services are available through digital channels, so our customers have choice. This team are driving innovation and are delivering new propositions and services. The role is based in the UK.
The Senior People Business Partner will partner UK Insurance leaders and their teams to implement the people agenda and plan to support and enable sustainable business performance and delivery of good customer and regulatory outcomes, aligned to the people strategy. The role holder will lead on large people related initiatives or change programmes aligned to the business run and change priorities and people strategy.
The Senior People partner will provide HR advice to the stakeholders they work with in Insurance and Functions where appropriate or signpost customers to the most appropriate source of support in the wider People Function, and work in partnership with the People function to ensure effective delivery of strategic and operational people services to the business customers.
To ensure that services from across the people function are delivered to agreed standards and costs, through transparency of expectations and robust measurement & governance, escalated through the Head of People when necessary.

- Input into the development and lead the implementation of a people plan for Functions / Insurance that is aligned with the people strategy.
- Understands the risk and regulatory frameworks within which the business operates, embedding appropriate people risk and conduct interventions to ensure our people are equipped to adhering to mandatory requirements and are fit and proper to undertake their roles.
- Developing and fostering key relationships with Senior Leaders, acting as the main contact for HR expertise in support of the business strategy and development of the people plan, as well as a conduit to specialist and delivery HR services to support this.
- Work as a trusted member of the relevant Leadership Teams to scope, influence, define, customise and implement HR solutions to deliver optimal people and business performance in line with the people plan and business outcomes.
- Work with the Leadership Teams to develop a workforce plan and organisation design that ensures the right people with the right skills are in the right place at the right time for the right cost.
- Broker and contract the services of other parts of the People Team (Specialist Areas and Shared Services) to effectively deliver elements of the People Plan and business performance, securing the right expertise and ensuring long term relationships are maintained.
- Advise on Leadership Team appointments as well as implementation of talent and succession plans. Implement leadership interventions to mitigate people related risks ensuring retention of key employees in order to optimise development and growth of leaders to fulfil their potential and maximise contribution.
- Contribute key strategic insights to shape the Insurance and Functions People Strategy, plan and interventions.
- Work as part of a programme alongside Specialist Areas and Shared Services to deploy major change initiatives.
- Partner leaders and people managers to drive employee engagement and Health and Wellbeing.
- Advise and supports the execution of cyclical people programmes as required e.g. pay & performance review, annual people survey, talent boards, etc.
- Coordinate and shares best practice across Heads of People / Business Partners for Insurance & Functions.
- Represent Insurance and Functions at appropriate forums and coordinate our response / approach on agreed activities.
- Lead the implementation of run and change initiatives across Insurance and Functions as required - these could be people owned / driven initiatives or, as the People workstream lead within a business led initiative.
**Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role**:
- Extensive experience of leveraging all aspects of HR e.g. recruitment, reward, engagement, talent, development, inclusion etc to improve business performance on a sustainable basis
