Sen Learning Support Assistant

M2 Education, a leading education recruitment agency, is seeking an experienced SEN Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to work across Key Stages 3 and 4 in a secondary school located in the Durham area. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional to make a positive impact on the academic and personal development of secondary-aged students.
**Responsibilities**:
- Provide tailored support to students with special educational needs (SEN) in a classroom setting.
- Assist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and support strategies for students.
- Deliver one-to-one support to students with specific learning difficulties, ensuring their engagement and progress.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Help students develop their independence, social skills, and self-esteem.
- Contribute to the preparation of learning resources and materials.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and report to relevant staff members.
- Participate in training sessions and continuous professional development opportunities.
**Requirements**:
- Proven experience as an SEN Learning Support Assistant, preferably in a secondary school setting.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with secondary-aged students, either on a one-to-one basis or providing whole class support.
- Strong understanding of special educational needs and the strategies required to support students' learning and development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with students, staff, and parents.
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for working with young people.
Working Hours: This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM.
