Job Title: Learning Support Assistant

Location: Durham

Leader Education are recruiting a Learning Support Assistant to work within the Primary Sector of a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) school based in Durham.

This dedicated SEND school, with a recent Ofsted rating of 'Good' prides itself on providing the best possible educational experience for its pupils, aswell as preparing them for adulthood.

The successful Learning Support Assistant will be consistent, positive, and dedicated to providing the best educational outcomes.

The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday 8:30 until 16:30 and is a long-term position. Leader Education are dedicated to ensuring that we find adaptable roles and schedules that work effectively for you.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a fully enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one.
  • Have experience of working in a transferable role or with SEND.
  • Lead activities with individuals or small groups to facilitate educational development.
  • Be confident in working alongside students, ensuring they are fully supported.
  • Provide a stimulating and well-structured learning environment suitable for pupils with SEND.
  • Be flexible and resilient.
  • Work effectively with parents, carers, and other members of multidisciplinary teams to provide the best support.
  • Possess communication skills that can be personalised to suit students of different abilities.
