Whittington Health serves a richly diverse population and works hard to ensure that all our services are fair and equally accessible to everyone. Nowhere is this more obvious than in the way we look after our staff. We aim to employ a workforce which is as representative as possible of this population, so we are open to the value of differences in age, disability, gender, marital status, pregnancy and maternity, race, sexual orientation, and religion or belief. The Trust believes that as a public sector organisation we have an obligation to have recruitment, training, promotion and other formal employment policies and procedures that are sensitive to these differences. We think that by doing so, we are better able to treat our patients as well as being a better place to work.
The Borough
Islington is a wonderfully diverse borough. Despite its relatively small size it is densely populated with a resident child population of 40,000, which is about 20% of the total population. The borough is a varied community with extremes of affluence and poverty. There is a broad cultural mix from a range of ethnic minority groups.
The Post
The post will involve leading and contributing to multi disciplinary assessments of autism, adhd and associated/overlapping conditions.
The NDT provides holistic assessments within a strong multi disciplinary framework which includes clinical psychology, psychiatry, paediatrics, speech and language therapy, family therapy and occupational therapy. Other opportunities could include: supporting and supervising of junior staff; contributing to the programme of post diagnostic support in the form of parent webinars and a young person's group; contributing to service developments and Quality improvement projects.
