Consultant Psychological Lead

We are seeking to appoint a Consultant Psychological Lead for our Newham directorate who shares our commitment to population health, integrated care, recovery and co-production. The successful post holder will have the drive, enthusiasm and strategic vision to support the psychological professions contribution in realising ELFTs Strategic Plan and ambitions.
This senior role will be a member of the Newham Directorate Management Team and will work alongside senior managers and clinicians to lead on the provision and development of local mental health services in the borough of Newham. You will lead (professionally and operationally) the psychological professions and services in the borough.

You will also be a member of the Trust Psychological Professions Board, working with other Consultant Psychological Professionals to inform, develop and deliver the Trusts strategy. ELFT has many talented and committed psychological professionals and you will be key in developing our people at all stages of their careers. You will provide visible, accessible professional and clinical leadership for psychological services in Newham to support Trust aims.

The post-holder will have an excellent understanding of working systemically across and within organisational boundaries. You must be keen to embrace the privileges of working in a diverse borough, have experience of working with people with complex mental health difficulties.
- is an active member of the Directorate Management Team (Senior Leaders Team) and the Psychological Professions Board.
- Provides professional, clinical and operational leadership to the psychological services and professionals in the borough.
- Is responsible for the development and delivery of well governed, psychological provision in the borough, this includes psychological therapies, specialist assessments, contributing to and leading psychologically informed services and population health initiatives, working in partnership with organisations and stakeholders in the borough (ie Local Council, VCSE, community groups etc).
- Is responsible for ensuring that psychological provision is co-produced, accessible to all residents and responsive to the varying needs of the local populations
- supports the contribution of the psychological professions to research and development.
- Active contribution to the DMT/SLT in the development and delivery of all borough services and priorities and to deliver the Trust strategy
- Active contribution to the Psychological Professions Board, contributing to and leading on Trust-wide activity to support and develop the psychological professions.
