**The Role**

Passing the baton of Remembrance on to the next generation is a key Remembrance objective, this post works with other across the Royal British Legion (RBL) to develop and deliver our overarching youth strategy.

At the RBL, we believe in positively impacting the lives of young people through the practise of remembrance and remembering what the armed forces community have done and continue to do for the nation through their service and sacrifice. We believe in informing, engaging and participating with our audiences - in all their forms, to inspire people, encourage inclusivity and generate vital support for the RBL and the armed forces community.

In this role - as a Learning Programme Manager, you would be responsible for the day-to-day oversight, implementation and foresight of the Programme that teaches remembrance to young people aged 4-18 years old. The Programme has a significant impact on youngpeople’s lives as - through the act of learning, it teaches them how society has been and is continually shaped by both national and international events and the legacies that they leave behind. The Programme has a strong focus on teaching the age ranges atthe appropriate level about people, places, events, timelines and identities, along with emphasis on the multicultural diversity of the armed forces community and their histories in terms of both representation and experience.

Each year, the RBL sets remembrance aims and objectives, which includes an overarching remembrance narrative that unites the Departments across the RBL. If successful, the main duties of your role would be to:

- Build on the annual remembrance narrative by developing innovative strategies (new strategies and those tried and tested) to encourage the efficient and effective teaching of remembrance, with the Learning Programme Officer, to young people aged 4-18 yearsold.
- Manage the Teaching Remembrance Programme, ensuring that it meets standards of learning and teaching excellence and is always delivered in line with the wider goals of the Remembrance Department and RBL.

We recognise that we still have a long way to go to ensure that we make the RBL a truly great and inclusive organisation to work for and be part of so we have set out our commitments to provide a clear path to deliver this ambition. We will keep listening, learning, and sharing our progress and impact.
