About Barclays UK Third Party Governance Team

The Barclays UK (BUK) Third Party Governance Team is responsible for supporting the BUK COO and BUK Business and Functional Heads in overseeing the compliance of services procured from external 3rd party supplier directly contracted by BUK or contracted by other Group entities providing Services to BUK.
The BUK Third Party Governance Team acts as the link between the service providers and the service recipients within BUK and will provide oversight of as well as challenge to the quality of the service & supplier delivery. The team will define and operate the process for ongoing contracting of supplier services; supplier service performance management and supplier service cost management as well as be responsible for the ongoing efficiency and effectiveness of the supplier service management processes. Third Party Risk & Management is part of the wider Third-Party BUK Governance team, providing control and oversight of Supplier and Service Management risk.

What will you be doing
- Challenge and ensure transparency and appropriate consideration of risks and issues impacting BUK from outside the organisation and from services provided by our service company (BX)
- Ensure Stakeholders have a clear view of the risk profile of 3rd Party Suppliers and provide transparency of the Banks’ control environment to proactively identify and resolve thematic issues, regulatory changes and continually drive control enhancement opportunities as the macro environment evolves.
- Develop the strategy & approach for achieving the desired business outcomes for assigned programmes working with stakeholders.
- Accountability for ensuring that business outcomes are achieved and completed to time, cost and quality and therefore avoiding delay in achieving strategic outcomes, and safeguarding the ability to continue to offer products & services
- Responsible for navigating complex and challenging topics to achieve optimal outcomes with MD level stakeholders across the Barclays Group
- Ability to operate in a complex, matrix environment spanning organisation boundaries.

What we’re looking for
- Financial services experience essential, specifically in UK banking regulatory environment, including structural reform, and banking governance, structures, policies and processes.
- Excellent working knowledge of the regulations and standards of relevant industry bodies and organisations and experience of dealing with the UK Regulators (Bank of England, PRA and FCA) at a senior level.
- Able to operate and influence at the top level within an organization as well as being politically astute and able to understand the dynamics of large, complex organisations.
- Proven depth of expertise in strategy execution, with experience of delivering change across risk and control environments. Experience of continuous process and control improvement for both efficiency and exposure reasons.
- Credible experience of advanced data analytics and the ability to use this to influence at the highest level.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills.
- Effective communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
- Proven experience in effectively delivering a strong and stable control environment that supports the organization’s global vision and has proven success in effectively executing against that strategy.
- Strong leadership and influencing skills across senior internal and external stakeholders.
- Exceptional Risk and Control expertise and Strong strategic thinking capability
