Resilience is the ability of Barclays to ensure a highly available end-to-end service to our customers, aligned to and measured through Business Services and underpinned by robust and clear policies, standards, procedures, metrics and reporting at all levels of the organisation.

Group Resilience are responsible for delivering the frameworks, policy and standards which determine how resilience will be implemented across Barclays to ensure that colleagues have access to the technologies and buildings that they need to deliver services to customers and clients.

**Overall purpose of role**

The Head of Operational Resilience for Consumer Banking and Payments is responsible for delivering a robust control framework for managing Operational Resilience Risks within Barclays by partnering with Group Resiliency and Stakeholders. This includes the delivery and management of Business Services Inventory, Business Impact Assessments, and Impact Assessments, in alignment with the Barclays ERMF and Controls Framework, as well as regulatory and industry best practice standards as well as Workforce Recovery Plans and Business Service Response Plans. Working closely with the Senior Leadership across Consumer Banking and Payments to implement initiatives to deliver programs to enhance and remediate our capability.

**Key Accountabilities**
- Act as the lead for CB&P Operational Resiliency, working with leadership and key stakeholders in the Businesses, CSO and CCO to drive an effective Resilience agenda
- Develop, implement and manage an effective stakeholder engagement plan
- Establish and manage relationships with stakeholders at senior and exec levels, in particular in the Business, CSO, 2LOD, 3LOD, CCO and Functions
- Drive resiliency as a key consideration in business as usual activities to enhance Consumer Banking and Payments ability to prevent, respond to, recover and learn from incidents in order to minimize impact to the Barclays, customers and the broader financial sector
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of how a bank does business, including the associated business processes and dependencies on technology, people and third party service providers.
- Manage resilience programs and initiatives, in conjunction with Business partner stakeholders, to maximize innovation, minimize the impact of unforeseen events, and increase our company’s organizational resiliency
- Act as a key point of contact for senior management in CCO, 2LOD, 3LOD and regulators in matters relating to Consumer Banking and Payments
- Manage an effective control environment to ensure risks are maintained within appetite across the bank, or are escalated and responded to appropriately.

**Stakeholder Management and Leadership**
- Influence and provide input into the Enterprise Risk Management Framework and Barclays Controls Framework to ensure that the Operational Resilience Risk and Control Environment continues to be managed in the most effective manner.
- Provide leadership and direction to a large matrixed organisation in creating a working environment of high employee engagement with a focus on proactively providing reliable, flexible and innovative technology solutions.

- Implement formal training and awareness programmes for the team.
