Risk & Compliance Officer

The post holder is responsible for providing full administrative service for the effective functioning of the Trust’s risk management system and for supporting the papers, distribution of papers, set up and attendance at meetings production of accurate and timely minutes and overall support of professional meetings.
The Corporate Governance Officer will establish and maintain effective systems to support the delivery of the Governance team’s objectives within the Trust’s operating and delivery plan. The post holder will be expected to use their own initiative, and proven excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, to facilitate the successful delivery of assignments and ensure that matters are dealt with efficiently and appropriately.

Main duties and responsibilities
To provide comprehensive, high quality and effective risk management administrative support service. Liaising and communicating at all levels (public, staff and external organisations) as appropriate. Contributing to the organisation and workload management of the Governance Directorate as required.

South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust provides a range of emergency, urgent care and non-emergency healthcare services, along with commercial logistics services.
The Trust delivers most of these services to the populations of Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hampshire and Oxfordshire as well as non-emergency patient transport services in Surrey and Sussex.

Risk Management Administration
- Support the implementation of the Risk Management Strategy across the organisation.
- Support the maintenance of systems of assurance
- Liaise with Internal Audit colleagues
- Support the reporting of risks across the organisation and wider system
- Support and maintain the development of a corporate compliance framework and any associated processes
- Support the development and maintenance of an assurance dashboard, ensuring that key areas of assurance are linked to keep the organisation informed of its progress against delivery of its duties.
- Undertake in-house assurance work, analyse findings and make recommendations to strengthen control and provide assurance.
- Prepare regular reports on levels of compliance
- To support delivery of the annual risk management reporting cycle and supporting documentation in line with the risk strategy.
- Maintain and report on risk information (risk assessments, incidents, alerts etc) entered onto the risk management system for the organisation
- Support committee’s and their memberships to ensure effective risk management practices
- Liaise with staff and managers regarding risk registers and compliance assessments where there may be a difference of opinion
- Prepare reports and correspondence ensuring all information is consistently reported, accurately presented, and produced on time
- Work with and support the Corporate Governance team on a variety of areas with the goal of improving compliance around legislative requirements and delivery of the statutory duties
- Operationally support the maintenance of the organisation’s registers
- To provide administration support to the risk and governance team including minute taking and facilitation of committees
- Provide training, advice and support on own area of responsibility

- Participate in the recruitment process of support staff
- Undertake auditing of projects, services, initiatives across the organisation to establish the effectiveness of implementation
- Deliver against agreed objectives, achieving quality outcomes

- Contribute to the review and development of policies within areas of knowledge
