Head of HR Operations

Hybrid role - with travel to sites and the head office in Harrogate

£60,000 to £65,000 per annum, plus a car allowance

Orchard Care Homes is looking for a commercially focussed Head of Human Resource Operations to drive the delivery of our exciting new HR strategy. This role will be at the forefront of ensuring the business meets all our key people projects including employee wellbeing and HR compliance. With an analytical focus, the postholder will design robust processes and audit matrix, monitor trends and attend the monthly board meetings.

A key member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will be tasked with reducing sickness and staff turnover to below industry averages and increasing staff engagement levels. With a substantial budget to manage, this role suits a HR professional who is experienced at delivering multi-site projects and using data to influence key business decisions.

Managing a team of 4, the role holder will provide a full generalist HR service to key stakeholders including Operations and Finance to support efficient rostering and provision of information to payroll. Whilst developing strategy, the role is very hands on, and the role holder will be expected to balance the tactical day-to-day alongside transformation programmes.

Main duties
- Lead the team of Business Partners and Administrators to provide an effective HR service to internal stakeholders, working closely with the Head of Recruitment to deliver a cohesive and seamless service across the full employee lifecycle.
- Lead the delivery of the People Strategy, ensuring all elements are completed with the required timeframes and embedded into the company.
- Ownership of the pay framework and development of a pay and reward strategy.
- Ensure the organisation is compliant with reporting duties and processes including Gender Pay Gap, Modern Slavery, ESG etc.
- Engage with temporary agency suppliers to maintain a PSL and have oversight of the same.
- Analysis of key people metrics including labour turnover and absence in order to support organisational decision making, working in partnership with the Operations Directors to develop strategies to improve metrics across the business.
- Managing multiple projects and workstreams
- Provide commercially focused advice and support to senior managers on complex employee relations matters, managing risk to the business.
- Ensure all policies and processes are compliant with legal and regulatory standards, developing a governance framework to provide assurance of the same, reporting any areas of concern to the Senior Leadership Team.
