**Job Purpose**
To process University records in line with University procedures and support the efficient delivery of the University Records Centre service.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**
- Documenting the accession, location, and destruction of records to ensure accessibility and provide comprehensive audit trails.
- Preparing destruction schedules in line with departmental procedures.
- Processing records (locating, retrieving, sorting, and packaging) for confidential destruction as set out in destruction schedules.
- Organising and supervising visits of the University’s confidential destruction service.
- Delivering ASC’s file retrieval service for University Services in line with departmental procedures.
- Preparing regular progress reports for ASC management team
- Maintaining a safe working environment across the records stores.

**Knowledge/Qualifications**

**Essential**:

A1: Ability to demonstrate the competencies required to undertake the duties associated with this level of post gained through working in a similar role. Or, Scottish Credit and Qualification Framework level 5 or 6 (National 5 or 6, Scottish Vocational Qualification level 2 or 3) or equivalent, and experience of personal development in a similar role

**Desirable**:

B1: Currently enrolled on, or planning on undertaking an Archives & Records Association approved Archives / Information Management course
B2: Knowledge of information management legislation, e.g. General Data Protection Regulations 2018

**Skills**

**Essential**:

C1: Ability to pay attention to detail and work with accuracy
C2: Ability to plan or schedule work in advance to complete assigned tasks in a timely manner
C3: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing
C4: Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
C5: Well motivated, with the ability to maintain progress with repetitive tasks
C6: Ability to use initiative and judgement to identify resolutions to problems
C6: Proficient IT skills
C7: Excellent manual handling skills, with the ability to use ladders, to reach and lift boxes, and to lift confidential waste sacks.

**Experience**

**Essential**:

E1: Experience of completing projects within a defined timescale
E2: Experience of working in a records management or other record-keeping environment

**Terms and Conditions**
Salary will be on Grade 4, £21,197 - £23,715 per annum, pro rata.
This post is part time (17.5 hours p/w) and fixed term to 28 July 2023.
The University would consider a secondment opportunity for this post.
